Just got back from D&AD New Blood exhibition.

Had a really great week down in London (apart

from the heat) and had some really positive feed

back on my portfolio, which might hopefully,

fingers crossed end up in some placement

opportunities in the near future.

As much as I love a good screen print,

dong it in 30 degree heat is not advisable.

Alas all my A1 screen prints got finished

ready to start making into bags and boxes

for my final major project.

Eh? opening night has been and gone. Well Done

to Monica Tuff, who set up and curated the whole

event as part of her final major project. A

selection of Northumbria students exhibited

pieces of work, including myself and a great night

was had by all.

Northumbria students hold exhibition at Electrik Sheep

Eh? An exhibition of contemporary illustration and design from Newcastle's fresh design blood investigating the very nature of the question; the whos, whats, hows, wheres, whens and whys that leave us all mystified and scratching our heads.

This is exactly what student graduates are doing - leaving university with no answers, just a list of questions about the future along with many looks of confusion. Anybody have any answers?

in Notting Hill.

H.G. Wells Book Covers

A series of book covers for four H.G. Wells novels.

The designs are based on the overlapping themes throughout

the four books demonstrated through the idea of venn

diagrams. There is an individual illustration relating to

each book, overlapping the colour circle on the hardback

cover. All books have been individually screen-printed

with the book jacket screen-printed on tracing paper.

titled 100. I have chosen to explore the significance of there

being 100 tiles in a game of scrabble.

Dance of the Octopus

This is a collaborative piece with Andy Lister, Anna Farrall, Jenni Madden and Chris Wilson.

The Dance of the Octopus, describes the life-cycle of a Giant Pacific Octopus through a symphony. The book divides into four sections reflecting the four movements highlighting the birth, development, pregnancy and eventual death of the octopus.
